I am going to use the augers in schedule 40 pipe. I need to know if they will fit inside before I order.
PlayStar's Commercial Grade Auger will fit pipe that has an inside diameter of 1 1/2 " or larger.
How do I install the pipe with the auger?
Drill a hole in your pipe 11/16" from the end, on center. Insert the aguer into the pipe, align holes and finish drilling through the opposite side of the pipe. Secure with the stainless steel bolt and lock nut provided with the auger. Align pipe so it is vertically plumb (use of a level is recommended). Turn Pipe clockwise with a wrench to anchor to bottom.
How far do you sink the poles with the auger into the bottom?
A minimum of 2 feet into a firm bottom is required. However, each situtation is different. Consider the following:
- How soft or firm the bottom is
- What is the bottom made of
- Number of poles being used
- Normal wind conditions
- Wave action around the dock
- Amount of current
- Size and weight of watercraft you may attach to your dock
What is the diameter of the auger?
PlayStar's dock auger has a diameter of 1 1/2" where it connects to the post and 4" at the widest spot.
